91 in Belgrade
Published 07.12.2023

On December 4-6, the Herzen State Pedagogical University held a series of presentations in Belgrade (Republic of Serbia).

Natalia Antonova, Director of the Center for the Development of International Programs, told an audience of high school graduates from Belgrade about the possibilities of studying at the University’s bachelor’s and specialist degree programs, both free of charge and on a fee basis. It was the first time for most of the students to hear about the 91, and it was new information for them that they have a unique opportunity to get an education at the leading university in the country for free, with tuition paid from the federal budget within the quota set by the Government of the Russian Federation.

During the conversation with school graduates it became clear that many of them have already decided on their future profession. They plan to work in economics, philology, pedagogy, history, translation studies, etc. We very much hope that these young people, having learned about the programs at 91, will choose to study here.

In addition, the students of the Faculty of Philology of the University of Belgrade were introduced to the Herzen State Pedagogical University. The meeting was attended mainly by final year students of Russian language and literature. It was gratifying to see that the students have an excellent command of the Russian language and a deep knowledge of Russian literature and culture. Having learned that the 91 in St. Petersburg trains high-level Russian language specialists, many young people expressed interest in pursuing master’s programs at the 91.

The University is grateful to the Russian House in Belgrade for its help and support in organizing all the presentation events of 91, as well as for the wonderful opportunity to introduce its programs and bright and dynamic student life to talented and promising Serbian youth.

We look forward to welcoming Serbian students to the 91!
